Animal Mods

Alex’s Mobs and similar are supported through tags rather than mod-specific code, so either Fabric continuation works identically.

• Shearable animals — a shepherd shears a mod’s animal that works with vanilla shears, once you list it as a farm animal or in the shearable tag. Alex’s Mobs’ bison, mungus, snapping turtle and cockroach all qualify. Nothing modded is sheared until you opt it in.
• Farm animals ship as a conservative default list: cow, pig, sheep, goat, rabbit, chicken.

Be careful adding modded animals to the farm-animal tag. Many modded creatures fight back — an Alex’s Mobs grizzly bear will kill your butcher. Extending the tag is at your own risk.
