Allays

With haulingMode set to allays, allays become your village’s couriers.

• Only allays you have never given an item to. Those allays do nothing at all in vanilla, so the mod is giving a job to an idle mob rather than taking one away.
• Give an allay an item and it becomes yours again, behaving exactly as vanilla including note-block delivery.
• Take the item back with an empty hand and it rejoins the hauler pool.

Hauling and vanilla

Your existing allay farms are untouched, because any allay you have given an item to keeps its vanilla behaviour completely.

Two things change for hauler allays:

• They can take from and put into containers directly
• They park at note blocks when idle, which fixes allays drifting off and getting lost. You never have to play the note block — just place one where you want them to wait.

If your storage fills up, laden allays hover and wait rather than giving up. A traffic jam of hovering allays is your signal that storage is full.
